My favorite oak tree in the fog

On Saturday morning I was awake before dawn so I decided to go downtown and see how the light developed.  Maybe there would be some amazing clouds in the east that would provide awesome backdrops.  Unfortunately it was all rather a dreary affair, so I determined it was a bust and started home, but coming across the connector I noticed fog lying all over the golf course so I changed course and headed for my favorite ancient oak.  I have photographed this many times under varying conditions, and it has many moods and faces.  Here is another.

Pot Pourrie

I haven't had much time to blog lately in between my day job, my photography, family and just getting enough sleep.  Here are three images from my recent work; very different assignments.  An aerial shoot (St. Michael's Church and the Four Corners of Law), engagement shoot and a child's first birthday shoot.

Jessica & Bryon

I haven't had time to post anything lately because I am behind in my editing.  I'm slowly catching up.  Here are a few images from Jessica & Bryon's engagement shoot last weekend.  Congrats guys - I know you both have what it takes to create a wonderful life together.

Daughters of the Confederacy Building

I had to be downtown this morning to photograph a building on Meeting Street.  I have been trying to capture it without the distraction of cars and crowds which has been difficult, so I figured there couldn't be too many people around at about 6:30 in the morning over a weekend.  I was partly correct :)  However, while I was down there, this building was looking wonderful in the pre-dawn light; the Daughters of the Confederacy Building on the corner of Meeting and Market Streets.  I do wish they would fix that crooked lamp in the front right, and why not light them?

Toss the Kid

This is one of Josh and Gideon's favorite games, and one of my favorite photo opps :)  I don't know who has the most fun of all of us, but I'm just glad Dad is such a good catcher!  Here is the game in sequence ...

The ACE Basin

 Old Sheldon Church ruins, Yemassee
Tomotley Plantation avenue of oaks, Yemassee
Bear Island Wildlife Management Area, Bennetts Point Road, ACE Basin
I was going to spend a couple of days over the long weekend in the Georgia coastal areas, but my plans unraveled for various reasons, so this morning I took a shorter trip to some of my favorite haunts in the ACE Basin. Here are images from a few stops I made along the way.
